Financial Support to Feed our Family
We are operating on a budget of $3500 a month. Here's an idea of some our expenses.
Monthly Food Budget is about $1000 a month
Vegetables ($25/week; $100/month)
Fruit ($10/week; $40/month)
Rice ($37/week; $148/month)
Spaghetti Noodles ($5/meal x 3 days a week= $15/week; $60/month)
Beans ($24/week; $96/month)
Flour ($10.50/week; $42/month)
Cornmeal ($6/week; $24/month)
Bread ($10/week; $40/month)
Sugar ($10/week; $40/month)
Tomato Paste ($10/week; $40/month)
Oil ($10 every other week; $20/month); this is very expensive and we are trying to limit this
Meat ($10/week; $40/month); we very rarely eat meat
Powdered Milk ($27/can every 2 weeks; $54/month)
Eggs (5 dozen for 250 Gourds or $6.25US every other week or $12.50/month)
Salt & Spices ($3/week; $12/month)
Coffee ($5/week; $20/month)
Lard ($25 for 20lbs); can cook and make soap with
Water ($2.50/day; $17.50/week; $75/month); Thank you to current monthly sponsor for blessing us with the funds for this expense!!
Additional Needs
Hair Braiding for 4 of our Girls ($20/month); employs two people and helps us to not spend hours braiding hair. I've done their hair for years, but honestly it takes an incredible amount of time.
Salary for Helper ($200/month); we have someone that goes to the market to barter and helps us in the kitchen and with laundry. She also helps us practice creole and is helps the kids learn the system (how everything needs to be washed with bleach water and then rinsed in bleach and dried completely or we will get sick and bugs will get in where there is any moisture)
Rent Money ($100/month)
Propane ($100/month); for cooking
Internet/Phone ($60/month)
Gas Money for Vehicle ($50/month)

Wish List
Gift Cards for anywhere (to purchase supplies while in the states or to buy online and have team members carry in). Gift cards can be mailed to: 160 NW Merle Drive, Hillsboro OR 97124
Trip to Baptist Mission Monthly (Ice Cream is $5/each x 14= $70; or French Fries $4/each x 14= $56); We used to go to the buffet restaurant each month in Oregon and would like to establish a monthly outing/treat for the kids. Our kids absolutely LOVE to eat and ice cream or french fries are rare here. They also have meals: hot dogs, fries, hamburgers, etc., but I believe they are $8 a meal (yikes!!)
Visitors (we need team members for week long trips to serve in the ministry and carry in supplies). Trips typically cost between $1500-2000 for a one week trip. Please come visit us!!
Baggage Fee Donations ($40 for second checked bag of supplies when team members bring items)
Money or Frequent Flier Miles for Airfare (for Linda to go back to the states periodically to see her elderly mother, pick up teams and supplies, and for our adult college children to visit; $700-900 for round trip ticket)
