On the other hand, it is really simple.
God called us, so we went.
We do not know the "why" of all of it. We may assume it was for this purpose or that purpose, but somehow God adjusts and changes those plans as we move forward. We have a very fluid plan and thankfully have learned to be flexible over the years. We can be confident though in the Lord's calling, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" Matthew 28:19
Sometimes we make things much more complicated then they really are. We lack faith and get caught up in details. I am happy to say that we have paid our lease for the next six months. Yay! To be honest, it does give me a sigh of relief to know that at least that part is covered. We're thankful that the landlord did not ask for a year at a time. BUT....even if we did not have six months in advance, we know that God is bigger then details and could have developed a new plan for us.
In six months, we will need another chunk of money, but we're not worried about it. No, we don't know exactly how it will be paid. Yes, we are budgeting our funds, calculating out each meal, limiting expenses, and it still does not all add up to us being able to logically afford to be here. But our God is a God beyond logic. We are prayerfully moving forward with tentative plan, but honestly we are no where near fully funded at this point. There is a purpose for that. God calls us to have faith and not worry for tomorrow. "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own" Matthew 6:34
Today we have a house. Today we have food. Today we have peace in the home. Today we have freedom to worship the Lord. What more could we ask for?
We also have our cute little truck now that gets us from point A to point B. Ron wants to paint it gray and call it our super slug. It's the funniest looking little thing, but it really grows on you over time. We are beyond blessed to have reliable transportation. I will also admit that having a vehicle gives us another big sigh of relief. BUT...we also know that even without transportation God is in control. We have feet that can get us from point A to point B.
Yesterday, we were in the courtyard with the kids for recess. We had them doing donkey kicks and handstands on the walls. We then had them trying to use one arm AND then also trying to use their less dominant arm. We then began to modify all that we were doing with the kids and having them try everything as though they only had the use of one arm (like Melissa has to do each and every day). It is eye opening to be reminded of what a blessing it is to simply have two fully functioning arms.
It is so easy for us to take for granted the blessings that the Lord has given us. It is difficult sometimes for us to even notice the many simple blessings in our day to day lives. Today we noticed and are thankful for that!
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is
God's will for you in Christ Jesus"
I Thessalonians 5: 18
