Depending on safety, I will then hike in with part of the medical team after they arrive on Thursday. Getting supplies in there will be tough. It's difficult to even get a donkey to that location. I literally have young and in shape team members that have hiked there with me before that are in tears on the hike. It's not for the faint of heart. The ground is unsteady and you walk down a ridge line. We have people packing their wives into medical clinic because they are paralyzed. We ask them what happened and they say they fell off the mountain. Prayers for safety is greatly appreciated!
Operation Blessing has been AMAZING and Ron went and got a load of wood today from them. We hope to use this for some of the main structures and then any of the homes that we may come up short on in the estimates. We do of course need funds for wages to hire some people to build and we'll need some funds to pack in the material, so any donations outside of these specific homes is also greatly appreciated!
Here's the list of homes:
Vierjal Salamon's home in Belot who has one boy and one girl. Cost for material estimate: $300. They have a group of co-workers from Minnesota with friends and family in other states trying to raise money to restore their home. Thank you so much!!

If you or you work or church group or a group of friends would like to "sponsor" a specific home or food, medical, educational, etc, please let me know. We will then take them off the list and move onto the next homes that we have not assessed yet. I'll hopefully have a list of additional needs soon.
Thank you so much for the incredible love and support we are receiving. Donations can be made to The Chance to Dream and mailed to Sheppard Family, 160 NW Merle Drive, Hillsboro OR 97124. Please write Haiti relief in memo line and put a post it note with any specifics. If you are sponsoring a certain home, please send me a message asap so that we get them off the list and don't have multiple people working on sponsoring the same home. You can also visit our website, which I "hope" is back up and running: www.thechancetodream.com
We had some technical difficulties with the website donation page. There is an urgency to getting donations, but as long as we know the checks are coming, we can take them off the list for now and work on the next situation. Checks should only take a couple of days to clear. We have specific warehouses here that should take the travel visa and that way we don't have the risk of sending in money and also transfer fees. This way 100% of your donation can directly go to the projects specified.
Mesi anpil. Merci beaucout! Thank you very much! ~Linda and family
